A section of Education Stakeholhelders now says CBC should not be scraped as proposed by some politicians.

Led by the Chairman of the National Parents Association Nicholas Maiyo compared to 844 CBC is the best since children do practicals.

“If we compare 844 and CBC our children are better off since thye are independent, do things on their own without supervision, our children. our children had lacked value now we are seeing value in CBC,CBC, it is the best curriculum and should not be scrapped,” said Maiyo while speaking to the press.

He reiterated if the coming government will scrap CBC this will be the worst mistake thye could have done.

“We better embrace CBC since the benefits are more than 844 since with 844 over 600,000 usually got below D minus and thye had nothing to do but with CBC thye can use their talents

Kenya National Union of Teachers Eldoret West Branch Kipchumba Arusei said CBC is here to stay only that few changes should be made on the same to make it more effective.

“CBC needs to be refined but not done away with it completely, they should amend where we professional teachers will advise, they should conduct some survey on where there are problems,” he said.

He noted that in any curriculum development there are nine stages.

“There is one stage where CBC did not pass that is piloting stage which was hurried, after piloting it was supposed to go back for evaluation thereafter implementation which was not done,” he said.

This comes after a section of politicians proposed the removal of CBC if elected in the forthcoming general elections terming it as more expensive.
