Over 29,000 Pupils to Sit for KCPE in Uasin Gishu

29000 candidates in Uasin Gishu county have sat for   Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) examinations this year.

 

Speaking to the press after opening examination container in Eldoret  Chief Administrate Secretary (CAS) in charge  of Education Dr Sarah Ruto  no special case has been reported on the same.

 

“In Uasin Gishu over 29, 000 pupils will be sitting for KCPE  and so far so good nothing bad has been reported since everything is going on as planned,” she said.

 

Uasin Gishu has 29107 pupils who are sitting for  KCPE  where 14499 are boys while 14608 are girls.

 

She further warned teachers and pupils against cheating saying anybody who will be found will face the full force of the law.

“I want to give a stern warning to teachers or students planning to engage in exam malpractices  that they will be arrested and charged, the cost of cheating is very expensive, we want students to  get marks that they have worked,” she said.

She noted that they have enhanced security to ensure that the exams run smoothly until the last day.

“We have beefed up security in all  678 exam centers in the county  where each manger is accompanied by a security officer  who will give maximum security to students siting for exams,” she added.

 

The Education CAS warned politicians against  using schools to conduct their campaigns saying it’s against the law.

 

She noted that  all class eight pupils who will sit for this year’s KCPE will transit to form one regardless of the marks that they will get.

“I want tom assure all students who will sit for this years exams will be promoted to form one, as  a government is to ensure that we have 100 percent transition,” said the CAS Education while speaking to the press.
