Uasin Gishu Director of Education Muriuki Harrison now says the County is ready for the enrolment of the Junior Secondary schools.

He says out of the 117 classrooms that were allocated for the County in face one is almost complete.

“ The construction of face one CBC classrooms are complete and we are now constructing face
two where we have been given 94 classrooms two in every school and we are at 95 percent by
today,” said the Uasin Gishu Director of Education while speaking to the press.

He noted that they expect the classes to be completed by the course of the week.
“By this friday Friday we will have completed the construction of classrooms which will facilitate smooth
learning of our children,” he added.

He says the County has over 150 private schools which have been encouraged to construct a
laboratory because that is a minimum requirement for the establishment of a junior Secondary
school,
“We are also bringing on board one of our biggest primary schools that is Hill school primary
where we want to start a public junior secondary school as far as junior secondary is concerned, Uasin Gishu as County we are well prepared and our children at class six are doing their choices for both private and secondary schools,” he said.
He further said for Junior Secondary private schools parents will be forced to pay for their children’s fees,” he said.

He said they have enough teachers for the same.

“All public secondary schools will host the junior secondary school and we have 150 private schools both primary and secondary which are ready to host junior secondary school but we are
encouraging more private schools to come on board for us to have more enrolment,” he added.
He said that the County has trained over 1000 teachers for the CBC junior secondary school.

“My advise to parents whose children are joining junior schools that they should go to the schools where their students are learning and their teachers will guide them on how to go about because teachers have been guided to guide children on the same,” he added.
