We have Enough Drugs for Uasin Gishu Residents -Jonathan Bii Assures Residents

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim on Thursday visited the county drug stores where he ascertained that there is sufficient stock for all essential drugs awaiting distribution to various health facilities across the County.

The Governor later visited the Uasin Gishu District Hospital to check on its current status.

Addressing the press after the visit, Governor Bii accompanied by his Deputy Eng. John Barorot said his administration will work on improving the county hospital by replacing old structures with new ones, affirming his commitment to ensuring health workers’ welfare is well addressed to enable them to offer quality healthcare to the locals.

Bii assured residents of Uasin Gishu County of the availability of drugs for the entire county.

“We are pleased to inform you that there are enough drugs from the central store. There may be a delay in reaching the various facilities outside town but we have confirmed their availability and they have been labeled for the various dispensaries and health centers they are supposed to be dispatched to.” Said Bii while speaking to the press.

Pleased with the attitude and morale of the staff he found at work, the governor thanked the county’s medical staff and expressed his desire to see this as the norm going forward.

“We are very happy with our staff who are motivated and doing their work. We want to thank our medical staff because something good is happening. We are committed as county government of Uasin Gishu and the new administration that we want to see very motivated staff serving our people and ensure that we have enough supply of drugs in our facilities.” Remarked the governor.

The governor also promised to give the county district hospital a facelift as the existing buildings need some renovations to make the structures neat.

While also addressed the staff at work where he promised to structure how they are going to be motivated at work to ensure proper service delivery.

“You are seeing the facility here is of old structures. Going forward we want to build a model health facility here. We are going to factor in we build a health facility. There has been a lot of talk of the unhappy staff at work. We will see how to motivate them while also reviewing the existing contracts they have while also giving contracts to those who have worked without contracts here for long.” Finished the county head.

Eng. Barorot on his part, said they will work on digitizing all the county health facilities.
