Communication Authority has rolled out capacity building for youths.

According to CA Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba the program was rolled out a few weeks ago to create a program nurturing talents digitally amid the fight against cyber threat insecurity.

“We decided to create the capacity building to nature young talents amongst our youth, “said Chiloba,” he said.

Chiloba said the program is vital as the world becomes more digital and demands all the actors to build self-secure and resilient systems that can ensure business continues across various sectors as the government of Kenya digitizes its services to its citizens.

“We are demanded to build self-secure, and resilience systems to enable business to continue across all the sectors in the country”, said the CEO.

Chiloba said in Kenya mid this year 440 million attacks were in Kenya’s cyberspace saying there are a lot of risks and everyone has a responsibility to be vigilant and makes cyberspace safe as the CA monitors the space.

“We are not safe in the cyber space and must be responsible and be cautious not to be swallowed by the cyberspace attacks that we are living in”, said the CA boss.

However, Chiloba asked the County Governments and all digital systems to support the National governments to have cyber security professionals and adequate resources and cooperate to curb cyber security attacks as a country in the future.

Following an advertisement this year, the Authority received 6,000 applications from students who wanted to participate in the exercise and decided to regionalize to bring in some sense of cross-country experience. The exercise is conducted in five regions, which include Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nyeri, and finals in Naivasha.
