Eldoret: Government Determined to Ensure that KCSE Exams are Credible

The Kenyan government is determined to ensure that the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams are conducted in a fair and credible manner.

CS Co-operatives and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Simon Chelugui, who oversaw the distribution of KCSE exams at Moi Girls High School in Eldoret, warned that any cases of exam malpractices will be dealt with severely.

He emphasized that those who engage in exam irregularities are doing a disservice to the country by undermining the credibility of the exams. Chelugui also revealed that the Ministry of Education is working with the Ministry of Interior to pursue those who may have attempted to distribute the exams through social media.

“I am happy that the Ministry of Education is working with the Ministry of Interior to pursue those who might have come through examinations distributing them through social media. I want to assure you as a government we are committed to ensure we deliver credible results,” he said.

Chelugui also reiterated that the government will not condone any acts that could jeopardize the credibility of the exams.

Uasin Gishu Director of Education John Thringi confirmed that the exams started as scheduled and that no cases of exam irregularity have been reported so far.

“I want to confirm that there has been no cases of exam malpractices and am happy that all maulti agency have helped us to ensure that we have credible exams,” he said.
