‘Yesu Ninyandue’ hitmaker William Getumbe has spoken after The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB)
Through a statement, Getumbe accused KFCB boss of abusing the legitimacy of his office and position.
“By addressing issue online, every Kenyan deserves a fair hearing and litigant representation, you can not take the law in your hands and act without the court’s precision. All content we make and upload on all social is governed by international laws protecting intellectual property, or films,” said Getumbe.
He says that a social media platform is not Kenyan the they follow their rules to the later.
“When cleared by the social media platform means I have aligned myself to their standards.
Only the intellectual property Courts can strike down content. They are the only ones with mandates to hear and issue relief on the same and not KFCB,” he noted.
The gospel artist based in Eldoret further said that KFCB and MCSK should align their law with the current Kenyan constitution and standards.
“When you want to clean the music industry, you should clean the whole social media, your attack should not be directed at one individual, it should be directed at all content, both in Kenya and outside which is consumed in the Country,” Getumbe said.
He says that the devil being the greatest musician God did not delete the content from existence, or even bar him from accessing heaven. If moral standards have fallen, then it did not rot today, it has been there forever. Hence you should start with porn, violence, drug and sexual abuse etc,” said.
“KFCB should address the embezzlement of funds in your offices, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, and bride in the music industry and the rot in the same. if this matter is spiritual, then weigh yourself spiritually, jipime kama unaweza, hii vita, but if it is physical then fight psychically,” he added.
He noted that if Christians will not defend him, Muslims will, If Muslims will not, Buddhists will, if Buddhist won’t atheists will , if the atheist won’t antichrist will, if the antichrist won’t the dead will and spirit will, finally either god or the devil will.
