Emmanuel Terer, a resilient and talented journalist, has defied the odds to carve a path of success from humble beginnings in Chesoen Kapcherany, Sotik, Bomet County. His journey, marked by perseverance and determination, serves as a beacon of hope for aspiring journalists across Kenya.

Raised in Chesoen Kapcherany, Terer’s educational journey began at Sironet Primary School before continuing to Kamungei Secondary School for his high school education. Despite performing exceptionally well academically, financial constraints threatened to derail his dreams of pursuing higher education.

Undeterred, Terer devised a plan to gather funds for university fees. He made the courageous decision to enroll at Vera Beauty College, where he pursued a course in hairdressing. Upon completing his studies, he ventured to Nairobi in search of employment opportunities, eventually managing to gather enough resources to pursue his long-cherished dream of attending university.

After nearly eight years of perseverance, Terer enrolled at Kisii University to pursue a career in journalism, a field he had long yearned to enter. However, financial challenges resurfaced, forcing him to temporarily halt his studies and seek employment in Kitale.

Terer’s natural talent and dedication to his craft caught the attention of local radio stations in Kitale, where he was swiftly employed. Despite facing challenges along the way, including periods of uncertainty and doubt, Terer’s unwavering passion for journalism remained steadfast.

His journey took another turn when he joined a television station owned by Moi University, where his exceptional skills were recognized by a professor who offered him a scholarship to continue his studies at Moi University. With renewed determination, Terer seized this opportunity to further hone his craft and pursue his journalistic aspirations.

Terer’s career trajectory continued to soar as he joined TV 47, followed by a stint at Switch TV, where his talent was further amplified. His journey came full circle when he returned to TV 47 before ultimately landing a position at Citizen TV under Royal Media Services (RMS).

Renowned for his eloquence and fluency in Kiswahili, Terer’s abilities often lead many to question his Kalenjin roots. Nevertheless, his prowess in journalism knows no bounds, earning him recognition and admiration throughout the industry.

As he embarks on this new chapter at Citizen TV, Emmanuel Terer’s remarkable journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, resilience, and unwavering determination.
