This groundbreaking agreement, which has undergone rigorous review and approval processes, marks a monumental milestone in labor relations within the country.

After a meticulous seven-year journey, the Governor of Mombasa, Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, expressed profound pride in his administration’s successful negotiation efforts. “As a Governor who values the contribution and efforts of our workers, I am pleased to assure our team of continued collaboration and support,” Governor Nassir affirmed.

The CBA, meticulously crafted and vetted, has received the stamp of approval from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, ensuring that it aligns with national labor standards. Additionally, it has been formally deposited with the Industrial and Labor Relations Court, solidifying its legal standing and enforceability.

The signing ceremony, held on Wednesday, saw the presence of key stakeholders, including officials from the KCGWU, led by General Secretary Roba Duba. This momentous occasion not only underscores the commitment of the Mombasa County Government to its workforce but also sets a precedent for collaborative and constructive labor relations across Kenya.

With this landmark agreement in place, both the County Government of Mombasa and its employees can look forward to enhanced working conditions, fair compensation, and strengthened mutual trust and respect.
