With the CS Defence Aden Bare Duale, Mandera Governor Mohamed Aden Khalif, and MPs from Mandera and Garissa, I participated in the official opening of the eight-story Waqf Towers 2 in Eastleigh.

The Humanity Growth and Development Agency (HGDA), which developed Waqf Towers 2, funds 26 Islamic schools in Mandera County, ranging from madrasas to primary and secondary schools. These institutions serve more than 6,000 students and employ some 198 teachers. Every month, HGDA pays around 3.6 million shillings in teachers’ salaries from the proceeds of the endowment fund.

We were joined by community, religious and political leaders, including nominated MP Abdisirat Khalif Ali; MP for Mandera East, Hussein Weytan; MP for Lafey, Mohamed Abdikheir; Garissa Woman Representative, Udgoon Siyad; MP for Ijara, Abdi Ali Sheikhow; nominated MP Suleka Hulbale Harun, and MCA for Eastleigh South, Nicolas Juma.
