CICan Monitoring and Evaluation Representative Evaluates TENP’s Applied Research and Training Impact

Mr. Kelvin Omwanza, a representative from the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), visited the Technical Education for National Progress (TENP) to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the progress made in implementing applied research initiatives and the effectiveness of life skills and work readiness training provided to TENP trainers.

Upon arrival, Mr. Omwanza was warmly received by the Chief Principal of TENP, along with other key members of the institution. The visit aimed to evaluate the impact of various educational programs and initiatives supported by the Canadian government through CICan.

During his visit, Mr. Omwanza engaged in detailed discussions with TENP’s leadership team to gain insights into the implementation strategies, challenges faced, and achievements made in the areas of applied research and training. The discussions focused on assessing how these initiatives align with TENP’s broader goals of enhancing technical education and promoting workforce readiness among its students.

Particular attention was given to the life skills and work readiness training programs conducted for TENP trainers. These programs are designed to equip trainers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively impart vocational education and prepare students for the demands of the modern workforce.

The evaluation process included site visits, interviews with trainers and students, and a review of documentation related to the implemented projects. Mr. Omwanza commended TENP for its commitment to excellence and the positive impact of its initiatives on the local community.

In response, the Chief Principal expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from CICan and reaffirmed TENP’s dedication to continuously improving the quality of technical education and promoting innovation through applied research.

The visit concluded with a mutual agreement to further strengthen collaboration between TENP and CICan in advancing technical education, applied research, and workforce development initiatives. Both parties expressed optimism about the future prospects of their partnership in contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

As Mr. Omwanza departed, he expressed confidence in the transformative potential of initiatives like those undertaken by TENP, emphasizing their significance in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals and driving sustainable development.
