President Uhuru Kenyatta Donates Foodstuff to Uasin Gishu Muslim Community During This Holy Month of Ramadhan
President Uhuru Kenyatta has donated foodstuff to Muslims in Uasin Gishu during this holy month of Ramadhan.
Speaking to the press Turbo Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Mohammed Mwabudzo representing County Commissioner Stephen Kihara the food is meant to help the less fortunate in the society.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta has donated 560 bags of food that is 360 bags of beans and 200 bags of rice, we target Muslims from the less fortunate in the society from the whole county. This will help them to celebrate Eid al-Fitr just like other Muslims in the country,” said the Turbo Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Mohammed Mwabudzo.
“We thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for remembering Muslims, more than 45 mosques across the country will benefit from the foodstuff that is from town to village. Kenyans have been suffering and such a donation will help them during this hard time,” Mwabudzo added.
North Rift Council of Imams and Muslim Preachers of Kenya chairman Sheikh Abubakar Bini thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for coming to the rescue of Muslims who cannot afford a single meal per day.
“On behalf of Muslims I want to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for remembering the Muslims during this holy month of Ramadhan. We are short of words to tell you how. We asked him to help us and surely he did it, we are grateful, and may God bless you,” he added.
He also applauded Uasin Gishu County Commissioner for fastrucking the process.
“Our job is to take the foodstuff to 45 mosques across the county
so that all Muslims benefit during these hard economic times, at least for one week they will have something to eat,” he said.
“My message during Eid al-Fitri celebration is that those with something should help the less fortunate in the society which is the main aim of the celebrations lets help the less fortunate in the society enjoy the celebration,” he added.
