I Will Revitalize the Agriculture Sector-Jonathan Bii Alias Koti Moja

Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant on UDA party ticket Jonathan Bii alias Koti Moja now says he will revitalize the Agriculture sector if elected.

He says Agriculture is a robust sector with huge potential in terms of creating employment and generating incomes apart from securing our food coffers and earning revenue.

“Uasin Gishu is a resource endowed County from the Agricultural perspective but faced by numerous challenges, both on-farm and off-farm, from the input acquisition level to the access of favorable markets,” he says,

He says Under his Nguzo Kumi progressive plan, Agriculture is a sector that has to inevitably streamline and he intends to initiate a program aimed at reducing the cost of farm inputs to enhance and increase productivity.

“A diversified value addition is an engagement I intend to undertake for increased benefits under a diversification plan into high-value crops and production of finished products for ready markets,” he added.

He says he will linkages and value addition and also improve the post-harvest storage and handling using farmers’ cooperatives.

“I will increase funds in cooperative for them to subsidize fertilizers where they will buy them in bulk thus reducing the high prices of fertilizers,” he says.

He further said that his administration will create employment opportunities for jobless youths.
“I’ll endeavor to create as many opportunities as possible, both to create jobs for our young people and to generate revenue towards financing our Bottom-Up County programs. It’s possible,” he said.

Bii who was nominated on the UDA party ticket will be facing the Uasin Gishu Guberetorila seat on an independent party ticket Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki in the August polls.

Bii further said he will conduct peaceful campaigns and called on others to follow suit saying elections are just a one-day affair and Kenyans should not be divided.

“I will ensure that I have taken youths to technical school to do mechanical courses, joinery, carpentry, electrical, building, and construction. Currently, the best paying job is white-collar collar jobs let’s enroll in technical institutions for a better tomorrow,” he said.

“Ensure youths get necessary skills to come and do business in town and that I will also build shades for the Juakali people for them to work in a conducive environment
