Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party has called off its anti-government protests which was scheduled for today Thursday 4th may.

The decision comes after the Kenya kwanza party led by President William Ruto decided to comply with the Azimio coalition demands of dropping Aden Keynan from bipartisan talks, as demanded by the Raila Odinga-led coalition.

This was through a statement by the Azimio La Umoja leader of Minority Opiyo Wandayi.

“This evening, the leadership of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party met and agreed to once more suspend the mass protests that we had earlier scheduled to continue tomorrow, “the statement read.

He said instead of holding protests they have summoned their seven members to the bipartisan committee to fresh instructions to inform further engagements with the Kenya Kwanza side.
“As a party we express deep gratitude to all Kenyans who have participated in the demonstrations in defense of justice and democracy in our Country,” the statement read.

It reiterated that they will not hesitate to resume mass action at the slightest indication of lack of good will and honesty on Kenya Kwanza side.

“We send very strong warning to Kenya Kwanza over the inference in the internal affairs of Azimio and its affiliates parties including Jubilee Party,”

“We expect nothing but a very clear and categorical communication from the speaker of the National Assembly on the decision by Azimio to remove former deputy minority Whip Sabina Chege. Any departure from our expectations will have serious consequences. We must end the culture of political prostitution in this country at all costs,” it added.
