Speaking at the event, the governor emphasized that the modern facility would play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare services in the sub-county.

Addressing the attendees, Governor Natembeya expressed his administration’s unwavering commitment to quality and warned the contractor that any substandard work would not be tolerated. Over the next five months, the governor will personally oversee the commissioning of the theater, ensuring that the project meets the highest standards.

Highlighting the significance of the theater’s construction, Governor Natembeya emphasized that it would significantly enhance the delivery of healthcare services in the area. In addition, he pledged to guarantee a regular supply of drugs and non-pharmaceuticals, allocating a substantial budget of 115 million Kenyan shillings for the months of June, July, and August.

The governor further announced that the county government has collaborated with an Israeli firm to ensure the provision of lap equipment, reagents, and even medical drones to facilitate the efficient supply of drugs and other medical necessities. Notably, the French government has also contributed equipment, including an X-ray machine, which will be installed once the theater construction is completed.

Governor Natembeya called upon all medical officers to demonstrate unwavering commitment to their work, emphasizing that service delivery should be their top priority. He assured health workers of his administration’s full support and urged the national government to ensure the timely disbursement of funds to devolved units.

Despite the devolution of the health sector, the governor acknowledged ongoing challenges arising from the national government’s failure to allocate sufficient funds to counties. He called for urgent action to rectify this issue, emphasizing the need for a consistent and reliable flow of financial resources to support healthcare services in the region.

In a separate announcement, Governor Natembeya disclosed that the soon-to-be-commissioned Kachibora market would provide a favorable environment for local businesses to flourish. This development will undoubtedly empower the area’s entrepreneurs and contribute to the overall economic growth of the region.

Governor Natembeya’s dedication to improving healthcare services in Trans Nzoia County is evident in his efforts to enhance infrastructure, procure advanced medical equipment, and prioritize the well-being of health workers. With the theater project underway and the commitment to adequate drug supplies, the county can expect significant advancements in healthcare delivery, ensuring a healthier future for its residents.
