Uasin Gishu Police Ready For Tree Planting Secures 4,000 Trees
Uasin Gishu County Police Service has secured 4,000 trees to be planted during the National Tree Planting exercise on Monday.
Speaking after leading an exercise of planting 300 trees donated by Consolidated Bank at the Eldoret Central Police station, Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi said the three will be planted at every police station in the County.
“We have secured 4,00 trees from the Kenya Forest Service which we will plant in all the police stations, police posts, and all patrol basses within Uasin Gishu County,” said Mwanthi.
“Every OCS in the County will plant over 100 trees at his or her police station,” he added.
The County Commander thanked the consolidated Bank for the initiative saying it will help in improving the forest cover.
“I thank the consolidated Bank for seeing the importance of partnering with the police to help improve tree cover within the police facilities,” he added.
They donated ornamental, fruits, and exotic trees.
Emma Mtune Consolidated Bank Eldoret Branch acting Manager said this is a way of giving back to society and also supporting the government initiative of planting trees to take care of our environment.
“We have brought 300 trees to this station. We have planted 50 trees at the Eldoret Central Police while the rest 250 have been planted at the police line. We are happy to give back to the community by planting trees,” she said.
