Eastern Africa Baraton Administration Urges Police to Arrest Those Spreading Malicious Information
The University of Eastern Africa Baraton Administration has urged the police to arrest those involved in spreading false information about Brenda Chepkirui’s death.
This comes after the photo of Chepkirui was shared on social media claiming that she was killed through a love triangle and her head chopped off.
According to the vice-chancellor, the deceased died of a natural death two weeks ago and no such cases have been reported in the university
“What was presented to the media was wrong information meant to tarnish the name of the University.We are pleading with media houses to report authentic information that has been proven,” said The University of Eastern Africa Baraton Vice Chancellor Philip Maiyo.
“The deceased was buried two weeks ago at her residence in Kericho,” he added.
He said the Chepkirui was buried with all body parts.
“The postpartum was conducted and the results showed that the deceased died of a natural death.”
He assured parents that their children are taken good care of at the University therefore no cause for alarm.
“As a university, I would like to assure the parents that their children are well taken care of, the institution is focused on discipline, religious, and training and we ensure that students are well taken care of. What was shared on social media is fake and we were also shocked with the information,” he said.
Dr. Shadrack Kamundi deputy Vice-Chancellor called on the police to take stern action against all those who were involved in this act.
“It’s sad for someone to just wake up one day and post that our student who died weeks ago has been killed and her head chopped off. Those involved in spreading false information should be arrested and charged immediately,” he said
