I will Create Employment For The Youths If Elected- Buzeki
Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant on an Independent Party ticket now says he will tackle issues affecting youths if elected.
Speaking to the press he says he will tackle the issue of unemployment amongst the youths.
“Youth unemployment is one of the most serious issues that need to be tackled not only in Uasin Gishu County but in Kenya as a whole. Most graduates both out of the tertiary and formal institutions are unemployed. We are cognizant of the fact that those who are already in the formal sector have very few opportunities to support and grow their venture,” he says.
He noted that it’s quite unfortunate that despite the youths being one of the most important resources, the County and National Government’s current interventions have not been able to address these challenges.
“ As we strive to take over the leadership of Uasin Gishu County from August 9, together with my Deputy Governor designate Reuben Chepses, our administration will establish a County Youth Employment office to seek employment both locally and internationally for our young people with a commitment to send 300 youths every year oversees for employment and opportunities,” he added.
He retreated that his administration will set up an Uasin Gishu Liaison Office in Dubai for employment and scouting opportunities for our youths in the Middle East.
“Once we take over the leadership of Uasin Gishu County on August 9, we shall complete the ongoing construction of sports facilities, which are Kipchoge, Chagaiya, and 64 Stadium. We shall also establish a County Sports Promotions and Talents body that will scout, support, and market our talents locally and internationally. This will help in the creation of employment opportunities amongst the youths,” he added.
He says his administration will also develop the County’s state-of-the-art recording studio for our upcoming artists.
“We seek to develop modern Sub-County Stadiums and Social Halls to facilitate indoor games such as basketball. With all these in place, the Uasin Gishu brand as the City of Champions will be demonstrated in deeds and words,” he said.
