KAKAMEGA COUNTY’S FIRST FEMALE ATTORNEY SWORN IN
The County Government of Kakamega has a new Attorney; CS Ms Vivianne Mmbaka Komwonyo. Ms Mmbaka was sworn in Friday at the County Headquarters, Chambers Hall in a ceremony attended by the Governor of Kakamega County H.E Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Oparanya congratulated her and expressed his delight at witnessing the swearing-in of the first female Attorney of the County.
Governor Oparanya who is completing his two year term as the first Governor of Kakamega County explained that the Attorney will play a significant role in ensuring the County transitions smoothly into the next Government after the forthcoming August polls.
“It is of utmost importance to make sure that the office of the County Attorney is operationalized to ensure a smooth transition and to avoid loopholes for potential litigations that may arise,” the Governor added.
The Council of Governors Chairman emeritus revealed that the County is in the process of hiring a County Solicitor General to enhance service delivery of the County Legal office.
Madam Mmbaka, an Advocate of the High Court and a member of the Law Society of Kenya holds a Bachelor’s of Law Degree from Moi University is well versed in Labour and Employment cases, Constitutional, Children & Family Law, Commercial & Corporate Law Transactions, Accident Claims, Election Petitions and Probate and Administration Causes and Alternative Dispute Resolutions. She is currently undertaking Master of Laws with speciality in Corporate Governance at The University of Nairobi
