Moi University Unable to implement 2017/21 CBA- VC Prof Isaac Kosgey
Moi University Chancellor Prof Isaac Kosgey now says the institution is unable to implement 2017/21 CBA .
According to a letter signed by the VC the institution will revert to using Horizontal Matrix to pay staff salaries.
“In the current circumstances, the university is currently unable to continue implementing the Diagonal Matrix of the CBA’s and wishes to inform staff that salaries from April 22 shall be paid using the Horizontal Matrix as provided by Return-work signed by the parties on 19th November 2021.We highly regret any inconvenience caused and request for calm and patience from the staff as the matter is being addressed,” the letter read.
He noted that the matter has been escalated to the Ministry of Education and the Inter Universities Council Consultative Forun(IPUCCF) who have appealed the implementation of the Diagonal formula and a ruling on the same is awaited due course.
“in the event that the funding to fully implement the 2017/2021 CBA is received from the exchequer the University shall apply the Diagonal formula as agreed,” the letter added.
