Moiben UDA Aspirants Want Party Nominations Cancelled
Moiben parliamentary aspirants on a UDA party ticket want the UDA MP nominations canceled.
Led by Prof. Phylis Bartoo they said that it’s sad that the nomination certificate was given to the wrong candidate who was number four.
“It’s sad for the people of Moiben that someone sneaked in a certificate without people knowing yet he was not the rightful winner. How can a person who was in position four be given a certificate,” she said.
She said the whole process was marred with many irregularities and that it should be repeated.
“It is unfortunate that I was in that place where the certificate was being issued and the candidate picked it and run very first with very heavy security. we are urging the party leader that we cannot condone this, it’s unfortunate and we will organize a mother of all demonstration until someone listens to us since we have broken relationships, and lost money just because of the party,” she added.
Prof Bartoo was the rightful winner.
They requested for the Moiben UDA MP nominations to be redone with no uncertain terms the process should be repeated and the certificate withdrawn with immediate effect.
“We do not recognize him as mp elect Moiben and the certificate that was issued to him too and we assume that primaries are not done,” she said.
Former Eldoret East MP Joseph Lagat and an aspirant on UDA party ticket said they to register our displeasure in their nomination since the results were announced and the guy who was number 4 according to our tally was issued with the certificate.
“We want the party to look into the matter and solve it since we were running out of time and should solve the matter once and for all. We expected CRO to announce the winner but we were shocked he announced the fourth person and as party members, we were not happy with the same,” Lagat said.
Diana Chebet Koech Chepkasi condemned the rigging with the strongest terms possible.
“Kibor by morning had 4,000 and we wondered where votes came from where he was announced of garnered 12,000. I condemn the unlawful act and we want the deputy president William Ruto to intervene,” he said.
Donald Murgor says”The party should work at speed and solve the matter and we are ready to repeat the exercise,”
Patrick Kiptoo says”There cases of voter bribery and a lot of irregularities in some areas where a candidate in question getting 75 and the data used to announce had 945 votes. Dead people were also voting we are disgruntled and this is not good for the party and we have invested a lot and we want to see it succeed,”
