TESO SOUTH WOMEN SACCO RECEIVES SH 400,000 FROM REVOLVING FUND

Teso South Women Savings and Credit Co-operative (SACCO ) Society Limited today received Ksh400,000 from the Revolving Fund Kitty.

The Governor handed over the cheque to the 400-member group led by chairperson, Immaculate Obari at Asinge village in Teso South Sub County.

He urged women who are members of various Saccos in the county to embrace savings culture to enable them meet their day-to-day undertakngs like paying schoolfees.

” Many Saccos have received funding from the Co-operative Enterprise Development Fund. We have also disbursed funds through Trade and Agricultural Development Funds,”he said, adding that most groups have utilized the funds prudently.

The Governor said Teso South was the first regional Sacco to be formed before other regions followed suit, urging the members to intensify their efforts in increasing their capitation.

He added:” I want to hear that your Sacco has purchased a vehicle to empower you economically. Other areas I want you to venture into include educating your children and business.”

The Governor said nothing comes on a silver platter, urging members to put more efforts in ploughing back profits which he noted will yield fruits.

The SACCO chairperson, Immaculate Obari said the Sh400,000 will be distributed to individual women to carry on businesses they have comparative advantage.

” Our Sacco was the first to be registered in the county. We are happy with our trajectory and we hope to improve on our operations as we strive to emerge the top,” she said.
