Thousands Storm First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy In Eldoret over Fears They Have Been Conned
Over 4,000 Kenyans that were promised to travel to Qatar on Monday stormed First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy in Eldoret over fears that they had been conned.
Speaking to the press they said despite paying to allot of money they haven’t traveled to the destination they paid for.
“I applied for a job vacancy in Qatar through this agency and I did an interview which was successful. The deployment was to take place in June but until now it is past 3 months now and the agency has not responded,” said Praise Jemutai while speaking to the press.
She said the job she applied for was to last for five months but she is longer interested.
” I want my money back as I had borrowed from someone with an aim of refunding in the first month of payroll. My children are at home and I need to pay the school fees”, Jemitei added.
“These people have our passports and we have realized that their receipts don’t even have a stamp or their name in them. I helped my late friend’s son to apply for the job in May this year and we secured a cleaner’s job. He was supposed to travel in July as had we paid fifty thousand according to how they indicated to us and went home to wait for their response as they had promised,” Said Edwin Lagat.
Judy Jepchirchir First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency Managing Director said those spreading false information on social media are being used by business rivals, noting that though there is a Visa hitch due to the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, their clients will be dispatched before the end of this month.
“Our agency is legit and we are legit doing the right thing and we have so far taken over 7,000 Kenyan youths currently working in Qatar others to Poland and Canada. Those spreading false information on social media are being used by business rivals, noting that though there is a Visa hitch due to upcoming World Cup in Qatar, their clients will be dispatched before the end of this month,” she said.
“Most of the deployment was shifted to August and September after the World Cup was shifted to November, we have deployed quite a big number since August and we assure all our clients that all is well” said Jepchirchir.
