Uasin Gishu Akorino Church members Thank CS Magoha for Doing This
Uasin Gishu Akorino Church members have applauded CS Education George Mogoha for allowing their children to put headgears while in schools.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town Uasin Gishu Akorinos said the move is welcomed and it was overdue.
“As Akorino church members in Uasin Gishu we want to sincerely thank CS Education George Magoha for allowing our children to put on headgears in schools, this move is welcomed and it’s overdue since our children had been suffering on the same,” said Bishop Johana Maina while speaking to the press.
He said it was hard for their children to go to school since thye were chased away because they were putting on headgears.
The Akorino are a group of African Christians whose beliefs and practices are based on the principle of non-violence, they are among the groups of people who are considered non-mainstream, and perhaps ineffective in national politics.
“Why is it while taking identity cards we were allowed to use our headgears and our children not allowed in schools because they are putting on headgears yet it’s our religion, thanks to you our CS education for that move,” Timothy Kimani said.
They called on parliament to come up with legislation that will make it a law where no Akorino students will be sent home because of their headgear.
“We ask parliament through our own member of parliament Eric Gichangi to pass a law on the same so that our children should not be victimized because of their religion since we don’t know who will be the next CS Education,” said Jacob Kania.
“Putting on headgears came from the bible in the old testament, Akorino started before other churches and we have been putting on headgears, we thank him for respecting the church which has stood with the country and wants the church to continue. We also thank President Kenyatta and Deputy William Ruto for standing with Akorino church elders,” said Joseph Kihara
They also called on the government to employ Akorinos in big offices which include judges, speakers among others.
