Baringo Governor Disburses Sh 30 Million Bursary

Baringo Governor Stephen Kiptis has disbursed bursary funds worth showing 30 million.
Kiptis says this  is set to benefit a majority of students joining secondary schools who have financial difficulties.
“The County Bursary Fund Allocation 2020/2021 financial year cuts across all the sub-counties with the number of beneficiaries as follows ; Eldama-Ravine with a total of 1011 beneficiaries , Mogotio sub-county 357, Baringo south 457, Baringo North 524, Baringo Central 494 and 913 Tiaty sub-county,” the Baringo governor says.
Kiptis noted that the County Bursary Fund Allocation Programme is set to boost the education levels of those students benefiting from this particular programme.
“We have increased next year’s bursary to 42 million to cater for a growing number of students needing support. In addition, we have set aside an emergency fund of 1.5 million to benefit 162 needy students,” he added.
He says his aim is to ensure that every student goes to school no matter his or her financial background.
“It’s the right of every student to access education as enshrined in our constitution therefore my administration will ensure thta every bright and needystudent from poor background access quality education,” he added.
