Ann Muratha The Gem Kiambu Longed For
When Kiambu Residents went to the ballot and elected the Honorable Ann wa Muratha as their County Woman Representative, little did they know the gem that was hidden in her leadership acumen, courage determination and strong-will.
“Kanisa madukani is now alive. I have kept my promise of giving a 100-capacity tent and 100 chairs, courtesy of NGAAF, that will make the church possible.
Moved by the weekly stories of young people, especially men, taking their lives in the area, my office held a week-long mental health awareness camp at the area, which paved way for the Kanisa madukani idea. It will be steered by Canon Perminus Ngigi, ACK St Peters, Kirangari. We are taking the word of God to their shopping centre where they spend most of their time.
My office is also in the process of registering self-help groups whose ideas will be funded by NGAAF. Sources of revenue will surely inject confidence and self esteem to the men and end their sense of hopelessness.”
From our desk we wish her the best
